When Jesus said I am...

There are one we know, but many we don't here is a round up who Jesus said He was.

Learning and studying growing up in a small Welsh Church, scripture was drummed into us. Our little Church was staunch in it's view, conservative and our minister believed the work of the Holy Spirit finished with the apostles. We read the King James version and that was that.

We didn't know much else and there's no harm in that, in fact Clyne Free Mission became the building blocks of my own faith and also the faith of many others who attended.

We would have an annual scripture knowledge exam as well as regular reciting of the word. The Tuesday Bible study and Sunday night after service as well as hosting the meeting was where we would learn the craft of preaching, all with a basis of pointing to or elevating Jesus.

What struck me when I saw this graphic was how simple yet profound this was. When you think about what Jesus said, he never proclaimed himself as a celebrity, but the seven points he said fulfilled so much old testament prophesy.

I note He pointed to be 'the life' in three instances of the seven., it reminds me of John 10:10, which summarises Jesus mission on earth.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10

I wonder in our own life, if we have considered the I am's of Jesus, and how they influence our lives today.
